Robert Asercion, a retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief from Faith Bible Church of Vallejo.  Mayor Osby Davis offered the opening remarks and Councilman Hermie Sunga, a retired U.S. Navy Commander was the guest speaker.  Following the Memorial Day Service, veterans and their families were invited for refreshments and food provided by the Vallejo Veteran’s Building Council.

FBCV Ministry Month E-mail

by Pastor Bob Asercion

Image

For three Sundays, April 11, 18 and 25, FBCV celebrated Ministry Month 2010.  Ministry leaders were able to present the mission and vision of their ministries during the Sunday service. Ministry tents were set-up in the church parking lot to display and inform the congregation and visitors the purpose of their ministry and how they serve the Lord in church.  Praise God for all who signed up as ministry volunteers during those three Sundays. The bottom line is: “It’s not all about us, it’s all about God!”  That’s why we are “Saved to Serve!”

Belong Ministry Outreach: Downtown San Francisco E-mail

by Pastor Bob Asercion

Image

On April 24, 2010 the Belong Ministry went on a food distribution outreach in downtown San Francisco with City Team ministries located in one of the poorest parts of the city located on 6th street.  That morning many church volunteers were busy making sandwiches and bagging all of it in small brown bags with chips, snacks and a drink. After preparing 200 plus sandwiches, drinks and snack bags at the church’s Fellowship Hall, Belong Ministry headed towards San Francisco to distribute “bags of love” to various individuals and families living in apartments. It was a blessing for us help feed people and families who barely can afford a meal who lived in these apartments.  After the food outreach, everyone had fellowship and broke bread at Buca de Beppo, an Italian restaurant in the city.
