Children’s Ministry Annual Snow Trip |
By Ryan Nishimoto The Children’s Ministry annual snow trip was held on March 10th at Soda Springs Ski Resort in Soda Springs, California. Thirty-four of us braved the Arctic-like, sunny, sixty-plus degree weather. Good thing we came prepared with sunscreen. Did I mention the five-mile per hour sporadic wind gusts? Nonetheless, we skied, snowboarded, tubed, made snowballs, and fellowshipped in the snow. God once again showed how He is in total control. With snow levels at less than forty percent of the norm and bare spots on the mountaintops, a storm dusted the sierras with fresh powder just days before the trip and every activity in the resort was open. We had some first-timers out there with us. The Yu Family (relatives of the Pagalan’s) visiting from Vietnam who took ski and snowboard lessons, and Phoebee Crawford who did it all at the Planet Kids park. The Planet Kids park had skiing, snowboarding, tubing and tube carousels for children under the age of eight. All of these Planet Kids activities were included in one low price. I want to thank all those who were able to join us this year. I give God all the praise for another blessed outing.

Christ In The Passover |
By Pastor Reuel Our Jews for Jesus missionaries, Rob and Sandy Wertheim, came and explained how Jesus is represented in the Passover during our three morning services on April 15. First, Rob shared how the house is cleansed from anything containing leaven which symbolizes sin. Then the actual celebration begins with the wife, in this case Sandy, lighting the candles and giving a prayer of blessing. Rob then proceeded to show how each of the elements in the traditional Passover Seder foreshadowed Christ’s death and resurrection. Many left the service in awe of how God graphically illustrated the coming of His son the Messiah. Many did not realize the connection between the Christian celebration of communion with the Jewish Passover. We learned that we drink the third cup of four, the cup of redemption, that Jesus pointed to as the symbol of his shed blood. It was an enlightening and worshipful presentation. We look forward their next visit.
